Really enjoying "This is England '86" on channel4. Thought it wouldn't live up to the film but I think it stands on it's own. Some really lovely shots, sometimes incredibly uncomfortable, but well done. Even the awful moments capture the non hollywood-ness of a real life. The rape scene is made so much more hard hitting by just having it in that crap 80's living room with the horrible domestic lighting. If it had been done all horror movie like, fast pace and darkness, it wouldn't have had nearly the same affect. And all the shots of the dull estates and skinhead outfits are cool to watch.
